19 things I've learned at 19

19 has been a long year to say the least. Looking at where I was physically, emotionally, and mentally last year at this same time, verse today when I am writing this post...I feel such a sense of satisfaction and pure bliss in my heart. I was going through the hardest heart break of my life a year ago, and today I sit here happy. Happy to simply be alive, happy for myself, and happy about the life I decided to create. I could have taken the easy way out, I could have gave up, but I decided to fight. Fight for what made me happy, fight for what I wanted, and here I am. Although this year has taken quite a toll on me, I have grown, and I have gained a lot of knowledge that I previously did not have, and for that I am thankful. Here's what I've learned....

1. Balance is everything.

2. A good work ethic is both important, and necessary.

3. Be kind, even to the ones who don't deserve it, and do it without needing praise or acknowledgment.

4. Enjoy the process.

5. He who angers you, controls you.

6. Don't play house with any man who isn't a husband.

7. Empower, encourage, and love other woman.

8. Everything has reasoning behind it, search for ways to grow from every misfortune you experience rather than self loath over it.

9. Cold brew is stronger than espresso, but adding espresso to a cold brew...now that's some real shit.

10. Sand, sunshine, and salt water can cure just about everything.

11. It's okay to be alone. Find comfort in it.

12. Happiness requires less effort than being depressed.

13. Wine drunk is the best drunk.

14. Love like it's all you know how to do. The world is filled with enough cold hearted people, be the light in all the darkness.

15. Do for others what you wish someone would do for you.

16. Karma is a real thing, let it run it's course.

17. Love yourself, touch yourself, and treat yourself. You don't need a man to do it for you.

18. Sunrises on the beach are worth waking up for.

19. It's never too late to start over, to change, or to become better.

heres to another year of self growth.

heres to 20.

heres to me.

xoxo, Jessica
